<img src="https://interpolations.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/3.jpg" alt="A photo of a three windows" />
You awake starring up at the sky. It's grey. The clouds diffuse the light evenly amongst the landskape. The landscape: tall, grey, concrete walls. Like you're in a trench. You try to move but cant get enough friction underneath your body to reorient yourself. You think you're floating on air, only you're not. It takes too long to realize that you're floating on water. Water moving quickly. You're in a spillway, ending in a large waterfall. You're going over the edge of the world. Before you unfolds the void, an endless black. There are three window frames that the water is splitting itself into. Do you...
[[go through window 1]]
[[go through window 2]]
[[go through window 3]]You slide through window 1. You land in a kaleidoscope room. The water pools on the floor. The walls evolve in shape and color with every slight movement of your eyes. It's impossible to grasp the feature of the room. Is it sqaure? Round? Are there other physical objects other than myself here? As you ask these questions, the water rises higher. It's up to your chest. Do you...
[[Take a large gulp of air and dive under the surface]]
[[Use the water to float up, and climb back out of the window in the ceiling]]
[[Succumb to the hypnotic visuals of the room]] You fall through the second window, and land with a thud onto a hard, white, plastic floor. The water flows down a drain on the floor. You stand, and take in your surroundings. You are in a shower. Not just any shower, but your shower. Down to the smallest detail, you are standing in an exacpt replica of your personal shower back home, yet there is no shower head and the only water is what continues to flow in through the window. The water is cold. The room is cold. The water is dirty. Waste water. Piss and shit cover you. Do you...
[[Pull back the curtain or door of your shower to see the rest of your bathroom]]
[[Think small thoughts, and become tiny enough to flow down the drain with the water]]You fall through the third window, and are greeted by tall, orange shag carpet that smells of ciggerettes and old people. It is soft, but deceptivly so as it is also quite dirty. Most of that softness is due to the large amount of fuzzy, dead catterpillers burried beneath the shag of the carpet. You don't notice the catterpiller carcasses and find refuge in the softness of the carpet, a small comfort to ease the tumble off the end of the world. You look up, and immediatly that comfort is taken away. You are in a dingy motel room from the 70's, explaining the carpet. There, on the old and beaten mattress in front of you, is the dear leader of the united states. Donald Trump. On top of him, a russian prostitute. Donald is tied to the bed. The prostitute begins to pee on him. You look to your left and notice Vladimir Putin and Boris Johnson cheaply disguised as porn producers, operating a camera aimed at Donald and the woman peeing on him. "The pee tape is real" you whisper to yourself. Do you...
[[Wait for them to finish, and steal the tape from the camera when they go out for hoagies and pop]]
[[Wait for them to finish, and join them for hoagies and pop]]You dive under the water. As your eyes adjust to the darkness, you realize that the features of the room have now totally changed. You are at the bottom of the ocean. Fish zip past you. Small geothermal features along the sea floor shoot bubbles up from their volcano like spouts. Do you...
[[Grab a fish]]
[[Grab an air bubble and place your head inside of it]]You climb back out the window. You look out into the ends of the universe. AN emptyness so vast, its incomprehensible. It drives you mad. You let yourself float out into void, endless. You float past planets, shooting stars, black holes and bright suns. Babbling incoherent mutterings all along the way, you are completely consumed by madness. Eventually, the universe begins to loop back on itself. You watch as another version of yourself climbs out of the window you climbed out of so many lightyears ago. You watch him drift off into the void, about to embark on the same journey that is now concluding for yourself. You notice the other two windows. Do you...
[[go through window 2]]
[[go through window 3]] You surrender to the flow. Visions of who knows what flood your mind. The visions ease your mind, dissolving any prior worry you had of drowning. The water rises above your head, but you are indifferent to the water now. Now, all you know are the visions. Slowly you lose oxygen, and drift off into death. You never notice yourself die, as you are too invested in the visions. It's like falling asleep with the television on. As you die, you feel yourself begin to rise...
[[Enter: The Spillway]] You peer into the rest of your bathroom. Sitting on the toilet is an old, frail, withered man. Where his nose and mouth should be is a birds beak. He his molting his feathers while he uses the restroom. "Stop watching me" he squawks at you. Do you...
[[Keep watching]]
[[Use his molten feathers to construct yourself a pair of wings]]You concentrate hard on becoming small. Eventually you feel yourself shrink, and you slide down the drain. It's the most intense waterslide you've ever been on. Different lights and colors flash before your eyes as you are swept further and further down the water. You see the end of the drain, a bright circle of light that grows larger and larger the closer you get. You land in a swimming pool. You are at a water park. Do you...
[[Go ride other waterslides]]
[[Go to the wave pool]]You steal the tape while Trump and his crones go out for sandwiches and soda. You make hundreds of copies and send them to every news source you can, local or national. The tape is seen by all. You think that this will be the end of his administration, but his supporters deflect like they do with anything else. They say it's refreshing to have a president who doesn't conform to the norm. By getting peed on. Dejected, you stop taking care of yourself, and slowly allow yourself to starve to death. As you slip into darkness, you see the two other windows from before, do you...
[[go through window 1]]
[[go through window 2]] You go out for sandwiches and soda with Trump and his crones. In an attempt to keep you quiet about the bizarre sex act you had just witnessed involving the President of the United States, they offer to treat you to a day of luxury. Do you...
[[Accept their offer]]
[[Decline their offer]]You grab ahold of a fish. The fish you happeed to grab ahold of is the Sage of the school of fish he comes from. Being the Sage Fish, he has magical abilities, and in order to escape your grasp, teleports you to another dimension. This dimension is exacly the same as your dimension, only everyones bones are ten times weaker. Do you...
[[Live out the rest of your life in this new dimension, never telling anyone that your bones are ten times stronger then theirs out of fear of being alienated from society]]
[[Make a living hustling various underground fighting arenas, breaking the soft, weak bones of every opponent you face]]You stick your head inside the air bubble in an attempt to breath. Unfortunatly, the natural gases from the geothermal features are not oxygen. You breath the gases in. They kill you. As you die, you feel your body beng transported.
[[Enter: The Spillway]] You deciede to live a quiet life amongst the weak boned societies. You find love. You get married. You have children. Your wife passes before you do. Two of your three children pass before you do. On your 100th birthday you are hospitalized after falling down a flight of stairs. Doctors run tests on you, and are baffled by your resilience. Such a fall would have killed anyone of the weak boned dimension. The state decieds that you are too powerful, and a threat to peace. You are quietly destroyed by agents of the US government. As you die, you feel your body being lifted up, floating.
[[Enter: The Spillway]] You fight for ten years in underground fight clubs until you eventually break out into the world of commercialized boxing. You put down every opponent you face. Every now and then you intentionally lose a round, to keep up appearances as a weak boned being from this dimension. Your ruse is never uncovered. You make shit loads of money. You buy a big house. You buy a fancy car. You buy everything you desire, but you cannot buy love. Sure, you try. But it never feels real, authentic. Always fleeting, until it's gone. You die unhappy, and alone. As you die, you feel your body begin to leave the ground, floating...
[[Enter: The Spillway]] Like an asshole, you continue to watch the old bird man use the bathroom. He gets mad. He gets halfway through using the bathroom before he lunges at you, and pecks your eyes out. "Ain't watching anything now" he squawks. In your new blindness, you begin to make out shapes in the blackness. The two other windows from before come into focus. Do you
[[go through window 1]]
[[go through window 3]] You construct the wings, but like icarus, you end up flying too close to the sun. Literally. You are burned alive by the sun. It's a shame but sometimes thats life. Strangly though, midway through the burning, you feel coolness rush over you like water, and you begin to float...
[[Enter: The Spillway]] After a long day of riding water slides, you wait in line for your last ride of the day. While in line, you take note of the person standing in front of you. You recognize the back of their head. It's your ex wife.
"Fuck" you think aloud.
Having recognized your voice she turns around.
"Ugh, you again."
She conjures a small portal, and reaches her arm into it. She pulls her arm back out. She is holding a large sword which she retrieved from the portal. She slices your head off. You spend the rest of your life dangling from the hip of your ex wife as a trophy and warning to other men who dare cross her. Do you...
[[forgive your ex wife for decapitating you, and decide to make the best out of your new situation]]
[[Stay bitter about it]]You go to the wave pool. You are surrounded by people of all kinds. All of them, however, are kinda gross, and it dawns on you that you are currently swimming in a pool of their filth. The thought fills you with the sudden urge to urinate. Its urgent. You're desperate, and don't trust yourself to make it to a bathroom. You are mad at yourself for not peeing while you were back in the shower. Do you...
[[Pee in the pool]]
[[Pee in the pool]]
By forgiving your ex wife, you give the two of you room to grow. It takes time, but eventually you both fall in love with eachother all over again. You live happily, until one day she accidentally leaves you in a hot car, and you die. As you die, you feel your body being regenerated, and it begins to float...
[[Enter: The Spillway]] Choosing to remain bitter, you remain angry with your ex wife. To spite you, she becomes far more successful and famous than she ever would have had she never decided to wear your bitter head on her hip. The desire to spite you served as a geater source of motivation than anything else ever could. After years of banking off your bitterness for success, she decieds she no longer needs you. She throws you out into the street, and you roll into a storm drain. As you ride the flow of water, you notice a split in the channels. One leads to a ladder, the other the spillway. Do you...
[[Enter: The Spillway]]
[[Climb the Ladder]]You pee in the pool. The pee reacts with a chemical in the water's cleaning agents, and turns the water a dark blue. Some kid screams "he peed in the pool!"
A life guard approaches the edge of the pool, and swiftly shoots you in the head. It was unknown to you, but when sliding down the drain you actually landed in a different dimension, one where peeing in the pool is punishable by execution on the spot. As the bullet travels through the back of your skull, your vision goes black, and you see two shapes infront of you. They come into focus. The other two windows from before. Do you...
[[go through window 1]]
[[go through window 3]] You have the best day of your life. They give you endless amounts of your favorite foods and drinks. They take you to the movies. They take you to the White House. They take you on Air Force One. Trump takes a phone call from Erdogan, they sound cute on the phone together, like a highschool couple if highschool couples were commiting genocide.
Strangly, at one point in the night you fall into a loop. You keep reliving the same moment over and over. The moment is one of pure joy, pure happiness. Trump and his crones never took you out for a day of fun. They gave you a drug, a drug that sends you away on cerebral vacation. The vacation fades to black, as the drug slows your heart down, giving you a quick, and almost euphoric death. As the blackness takes over, you notice the two other windows from before. Do you...
[[go through window 1]]
[[go through window 2]] You decline their offer. Engraged, Trump flips over the table, spilling hoagies and pop everywhere. They chase after you. As if you were in a dream, you feel like you don't have total control of your limbs, and running feels like moving through gelatin. They are getting closer. Do you...
[[hide]]
[[run]]You hide inside a dumpser behind the sandwich shoppe. Having a nose for garbage, Trump notices that the dumpster smells different than it should. As if there were something that...wasn't garbage inside. He opens the lid, and he finds you. Cornered, you know that the end is near. They put a bullet through your leg, and a bag over your head. They stuff you into the trunk of a car, and drive you far out of town. They toss you over a ledge, and you land in water. They've thrown you into a spillway.
[[Enter: The Spillway]] You run. You run and you run. It's usless though, Boris Johnson is a great shot with his old Mauser, a Nazi used relic of the past, and Borris' most prized possession. They put a bullet through your leg, and a bag over your head. They stuff you into the trunk of a car, and drive you far out of town. They toss you over a ledge, and you land in water. They've thrown you into a spillway.
[[Enter: The Spillway]] [[Enter: The Spillway]]
You climb the ladder. As you ascend, your memories fade and you lose your sense of self. Suddenly, you're sitting at a cubical. You go to work all day. You sit there, in your cubicle. It’s a terrible job but you're not sad about it anymore. You’re not even angry or unsatisfied. You’re indifferent. You think, what’s the point? Why should you find a new job? They’re all pointless. At least with your level of education. It’s inescapable. Why didn’t you go to college? Why don’t you go now? Why aren’t you trying to make yourself better? You sigh. Oh well, you say, and make your next phone call.
“Hi, This is Cristine with Welsure Insurance, have you considered changing providers recently?” you say. You read the line off a script given to you by your supervisor. You’ve been here ten years and not once have you deviated from the script. Why bother? The muscles in your brain aren’t worth flexing for these insolent dolts. They surely wouldn’t flex theirs for you.
Click.
They hung up on you. Again. You’re used to this. Why should they listen to you? Who cares about Welsure? They’re an awful company and you work for them. You’ll work for them until you die.
With that lingering thought you notice the time. Five o’clock sharpe. You log out from your computer and rise from your desk. You grab your coat and your hat, and you’re just about out the door before you hear a faint “see ya later Cris” from the secretary, Meryl. Your heart skips a beat and for a moment butterflies battle in your stomach before your anxiety sedates them. She’s married you tell yourself, and to a man at that. You have no chance of ever being with her. Dejected, you take the stairs down so you can tell yourself you got at least some exercise today, and get in your car. You drive down First Ave, and turn right onto Crowley. You begin thinking about Meryl again. Her hair. Her skin. How much softer it must be than yours. You pull up to a red light. You never get to it while it’s still green. You think about how appropriate that feels. The light shifts, and you accelerate. You hear Meryl's words again in your head.
See ya later Cris.
You feel your car jerk as your driver's side door crunches and is pushed into your side. You’ve been hit by a drunken fool. As you die you feel yourself lose your grip on the ladder and you fall back into the water below, into the other channel leading to the spillway.
